Beaches on the island of Korcula
The island of Korcula is located in southern Dalmatia and is known as the island of Marco Polo. Korcula is separated from the Peljesac peninsula by a narrow channel and with ferries connected between Domince-Orebic.
The ferry trip takes only 15 minutes and the ferries sail frequently, especially during the season. The island of Korcula is a beautiful island with its lush vegetation, beaches and places of historical interest, so it has a lot to offer its tourists. Along the shore of the island are the places Korcula, Lumbarda, Vela Luka, while inside are Zrnovo, Pupnat, Cara, Smokvica and Blato.
Vela Przina is located on the south side of the island, in Lumbarda. Korcula and Lumbarda are connected by frequent bus lines and the journey takes only 15 minutes. Przina beach is well protected from the north winds, but when the south wind is blowing there is a risk of very high waves. It is suitable for families with small children and the elderly. On the beach you can rent sun loungers and parasols, and there is also a ground for beach volleyball. Right next to the beach there is a parking (for a fee). At the beach there is a bar that serves fast food.
Beaches on the island of Badija
Badija Island is a popular destination for day trips from Korcula. The island of Badija belongs to the Korcula archipelago and is the largest of the 20 islands. A taxi boat navigates to Badija from the waterfront of Korcula; a return ticket is 20 kunas and the journey takes 15 minutes. The island of Badija was inhabited last century by the Franciscans who restored the ancient monastery. There are also several restaurants that are open during the summer months, and the attraction is the deer that, without any fear, approach visitors looking for a delicious meal.
The beach is rocky and partly obscured by dense vegetation that provides shade. Access to the sea is moderate and strewn with white stones. There is also a nudist beach in Su Badija.

Korcula town beach is only 200 meters from the historic center towards the Hotel Park. The beach is pebbly and there are several bars and restaurants. Since this is a public beach, and that is in the vicinity of several hotels (Marco Polo Park, Liburnia) you have to expect big crowds, especially if you plan to arrive in the season. The facilities on the beach are: a portable toilet, a small restaurant and sun loungers.
Pupnatska luka is certainly one of the most beautiful bays on the island. It is located on the south side of the island and is only 5 km away from the city of Punat. The bay can be reached by an unpaved but passable road. Near the beach there is an area that is used as a parking space. The beach is pebbly with a beautiful entrance to the sea and is suitable for families with small children.
Vranac, city beach – Vela Luka
The city beach, Vranac, was built in 1924 and in 2012 has been completely renovated and furnished. With the renovation of the beach, the tourist offer in Vela Luka is taken to a higher level. The beach is pebbly and you can rent beach umbrellas and deck chairs. The beach has a cafeteria and a restaurant.
Beaches on the island of Proizd
The Proizd Island is located at the entrance to Vela Luka and is definitely a place to visit if you are nearby. Thanks to the exceptional quality of the sea, Proizd was named “The most beautiful beach of the Croatian Adriatic” in 2007. The Proizd Island is about a half hour boat ride, but from a speedboat you can get there in just a few minutes . The island has a small pier and a restaurant with a wide selection of Dalmatian cuisine. Proizd is surrounded by crystal clear waters and sandy beaches with rocky coves, so if you want to get away from big crowds and enjoy the beautiful crystal clear sea, a trip to Proizd is the best choice.
